Description. Trauma Informed Care is an approach that considers how the people we serve are impacted by traumatic events in their lives and offers strategies to help people feel safe, respected, and empowered to begin healing from the impact of trauma.
In this training, participants will be introduced to the basic concepts associated with Trauma Informed Care. Traumatic events can impact a child’s development though adulthood. We will discuss the signs and symptoms of that impact, and how to support a person who struggles to heal from trauma. .
Complex and historical trauma will be discussed as well as a review of the Adverse Childhood Experiences Studies (ACES). This will help participants understand the impact of traumatic events on brain development and lead to a brief overview of strategies to help behavioral health consumer cope with the impact of trauma.
This training is being offered as an Anytime training with access to the recorded sessions and training materials.
