Training Overview Description

“Wellness Is Our Way of Life” ~ Deg Xit’an, Athabascan Elder – This training is designed to build awareness and understanding of the impact culture has on the well-being and quality of life of Indigenous people; as well as to highlight the inherent strengths, resilience, knowledge, coping mechanisms, and practices of Indigenous people historically, which aided in survival during difficult times. These are a foundation for wellness and healing processes today. Deg Xit’an, Athabascan people learn traditional values and how to be in relationship with the physical and spirit world through the cultural practices modeled by our Elders, parents, and community leaders and seeds for wellness are rooted within us. AKTC is an approved CE provider for State of Alaska LPC Board of Examiners and ACBHC; application has been approved by the State of Alaska Board of Social Work Examiners as Cross Cultural: Alaska Native Specific contact hours; and meets LMFT CE criteria.

Registration Information

This PRE-RECORDED training will be broadcast to designated community videoconference locations. Registered participants will be notified of community videoconference locations, at their LMS Profile email, two days prior to the class, email subject: "IMPORTANT Information..." Evaluation and any class handouts will be included. CE Certificates will be distributed via your LMS Profile email address within two weeks after the class to participants that complete the class, have paid their account, and submitted their evaluation. Updated distribution of Certificates will happen once per month after. There will be an additional fee of $15.00 due for CE Certificate if fee or training Evaluation is not received within 30 calendar days.
