Christine A. Courtois, PhD, ABPP, retired from clinical practice in Washington, DC in 2016, after 35 years. In the recent past, she has co-authored Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, co-edited two books on approaches to the treatment of complex trauma in adults and children/adolescents, co-authored one book for clinicians on the treatment process for complex trauma, co-edited Spiritually Oriented Psychotherapy for Trauma, and authored the consumer book It’s Not You, It’s What Happened to You.
