Behavioral Health practitioners often face tension between interventions mandated by funding agencies, Empirically Supported Treatments, and the interventions experienced as more appropriate for their clients. ESTs have often been developed in settings that differ from those found in Alaska. This training will outline what determines Culturally Appropriate Best Practices populations including Alaska Native cultures. We will discuss ethical dilemmas in Alaska and share useful resources for addressing them.
